Amilcar CC from 1921 in very good condition. Engine number 1549.

Extensively restored and barely used. Right hand drive. The engine works perfectly and some small modifications have been made like the installation of a distributor instead of the original magneto or the installation of an electrical ventilator or a more modern carburettor (the original is also included).

The technical inspection (MOT) still needs to be done. The plates are GE-6999, and it's historical registration is currently being processed. We have a photo album with the detail of the restoration process.

The car is in Figueres (Girona), Spain.

The highly original Type CC Amilcar offered for sale here, chassis no. 454 is thought to be the fourth earliest known surviving example of an Amilcar extant and carries rare and original two-seater sports coachwork by Charles Mathieu of Montélimar. ‘454’ was discovered in a workshop in the Bordeaux region of France by David Howard who promptly purchased the car and brought it back to the UK. Upon discovery that the car and more particularly the engine, required extensive work David Howard sold the Amilcar (disclosing the known faults) to Andrew Booth of Orchid cars, another protagonist of highly original cars.

The previous onwer’s father purchased the Amilcar from Orchid cars in 2005 as a 21st birthday present. Since then the car has been totally overhauled mechanically, whilst retaining as much originality as possible. The entire list of works carried out is too extensive to describe in full here but importantly included: A complete engine overhaul with new phoenix crank and connecting rods, cylinder block re-bored with new pistons, valves and springs and a re-profiled camshaft, a complete overhaul of the gearbox and both rear and front axles with new king pins and bushes to the latter, an overhaul of the steering box, rebuilt magneto and dynamo and most recently the replacement of the original clutch thrust bearing. The original body was handed over to Keith Hill who very cleverly replaced most of the wooden frame of the body without removing the original paneling/paint at all. The original upholstery was beyond serviceable repair and was replaced in full to the correct pattern.

Upon completion of the restoration work ‘454’ has been lovingly used in VSCC events in the UK and this year took part in The Vintage Revival at Montlhéry, the banked Brooklands-style circuit just outside Paris. It is offered for sale with a history file containing correspondence between the Amilcar factory at Saint-Denis and one Monsieur Brenning, a handbook and parts manual, copies of bills and invoices for recent work carried out and a current V5C UK road registration certificate.

The current owner purchased the Amilcar from Robert Glover Limited last year and has used the car on tours in France. Offered for sale rationalize his collection and to make way for another purchas this highly original and rare Amilcar would be eminently suitable for light car events in the UK and Europe and would no doubt be very welcome at any event that promotes the use of highly original cars. Since its discovery in France ‘454’ has benefitted from only passing through the hands of those whom truly appreciated originality and as such is a superb reference point for early 1920s light car coachwork and design.

Sur la verte d'aujourd'hui : si les travaux décrits ont été réellement et bien réalisés, le prix, surtout au cours actuel de la £, est réaliste pour une auto sympathique (le CC est une voiture peu puissante mais fiable et très amusante) et qui sent le "bon jus".

en effet, le CC a un jus remarquable, à surtout ne pas toucher

Rectificatif, après vérification, trois CO déportés ont été fabriqués (peut être même 4) et les deux MCO 1100 et 1500 (1270cc exactement).
Donc ça fait au moins cinq monoplaces construites (éventuellement 6 si un 4ème CO déporté à été fait).

Il en reste au moins quatre (2 CO et les 2 MCO). Un troisième CO déporté est peut être en restauration en Angleterre.

1927 CGSs Amilcar, sport staggered two seater. Excellent condition. Blue with red leather. I have too many cars and not enough time! So car rarely used. Imported from USA some years ago after an award at Amelia Island Florida Concours. All original instruments and full UK paperwork. Fitted with period Cozette aluminium cylinder head and a Vanparys exhaust system with cut out. New Blockley tyres and recently rewired.

This CGS is NO special, NO recreation, NO replica - just Amilcar!

Nut&bolt restauration carried out in switzerland between 2006-2009 with paying attention to every little detail.
Engine rebuilt in september 2016 by Amilcar specialist Ernst Brogli (he built all the supercharged Amilcar engines for M. Jolly).
Car starts at the button - very reliable. Works perfect on track, in snow and even in heavy traffic.

Everything works - all instruments, electrics including Scintilla magnet rebuilt. Rear axle with differential.
Lot of documents and some spare parts including an early CGS engine \"a barbotage\" come with the car.

French \"Carte Grise\" and swiss papers. The car is located in Zürich, Switzerland

Very nice example of this iconic Amilcar.

Amilcar CC de 1922

cette Amilcar CC de 1922 était présente à Epoqu’auto 2015

Le premier modèle de la marque était le type CC (moteur quatre cylindres de 903 cm3 à soupapes latérales, une boîte de vitesses à trois rapports, pas de démarreur, pont en alu, pas de différentiel, essieu en tôle pliée armée de bois, 4 cantilevers… spartiate quoi!  Sa vitesse maximale est néanmoins de 75 km/h…

L’Amilcar présentée ici est de ce premier Type (CC), elle est de 1922 (recarrossée à la fin des années ’20 avec cette caisse à pointe « bordino ») et c’est une belle « sortie de grange ». Elle est sublime avec sa patine (j’espère qu’elle la gardera… sauf peut-être les phares de 2CV
