Zbrojovka from the Czech town of Brno is one of the companies originating from the famous technical and mechanical environment such as Škoda, Laurin & Klement, Walter, RAF, Tatra Praga, Aero and others, also Mr. Ferdinand Porsche grew up in this influential surrounding.
From its heritage as artillery works in the Austro-Hungarian Empire Zbrojovka was established as national Czechoslovakian army company trying to find profitable new civilian markets after the armistice and national independence. Today Zbrojovka is still active producing sports rifles for the international market.
The Z 12 was constructed in 1927 as a unique racing car using a 1,5 l four cylinder two stroke engine, producing around 45 hp, instantly recognizable by its typical sound. This car was used then in endurance events and circuit racing alike with mixed success through the 1930ies.
After disappearing during WW II it resurfaced in the late 40ies in Prague. It was sold through auction in 1973 to Austria where it passed in unrestored condition through the hands of several collectors until the last owner gave it the thorough restoration it deserves as unique witness of Czech inventive genius.
This Zbrojovka car will definitely always be an interesting participant in historic racing events and offers a good opportunity to enter prewar racing at a reasonable price level. Additionally, it is wired and equipped for street use, this being easily removed for racing.

No it is not true!
Model Z12 did not exist!
Existed a Z-14 model, but it was something completely different ...

This vehicle is based on the Model  Z-9. It was built by a private man around the Second War. It has nothing to do with the factory. Probably never raced. It was sold to Austria. Several times the owner changed. It then underwent renovations. It has a Z-5 engine.

Il ne s'agit pas de jantes Bugatti, ça ressemble au loin, mais c'est certainement d'une inspiration d’époque, voir le detail sur la photo du musée ci dessus
